David goes in for his second hip surgery on Thursday. We didn't get much notice from the surgeon, they called last Wednesday to let us know it had been scheduled. So we're off to Indy again for an overnight stay, but this time should be much easier than the first.
They're just repairing the piece of bone that split off the hip when David slipped and fell. They may screw it back together or use wire. We won't know until the doctor opens him up. He doesn't even get a shiny new scar; they'll cut along the same path they used before. And scars are so macho ; (
No news yet about the post-surgery restrictions either. We'll find out how long he'll be off work, whether or not he can drive or walk after the surgery as well. Those are the burning questions right now. If they restrict his driving for four weeks again, I think we'll both go nuts!
Surgery seems to be running in the family lately. Dad had rotator cuff repair just before Christmas. I hope you're doing your physical therapy! My sis Erin just had hernia surgery today and I'm glad to hear it all went well. Just don't let Wen or Tst-tst climb in your lap for a while! And David's mom has to have bladder surgery next week. Which means Gene will have to wait on her for once! At least everyone will be back to normal, happy and healthy by the time the sun finally starts to shine in a few months.
I'll post an update after the surgery so everyone will know how the old man comes through. No pictures though. I'll spare you all that trauma.
Love, K10

I hope things go well for David, let us know. I have 6 weeks of physical therapy and then an additional 4 to 6 weeks of strength building. Surgery is really no fun, and neither is the recovery. I am stuck with the truck which is the only automatic. Take care David, We had 70's today...
Dad
Oh, good luck with the surgery...wishing you all the best

Good luck David! I'll be thinking about you both this week.
